The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Schedule Is Finally Out; Ind vs. Pak on Oct 15


The ICC and BCCI unveiled the World Cup 2023 schedule, starting on October 5 and ending on November 19 in Ahmedabad with the championship match. The tournament will feature ten teams and a league phase, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. India will host the competition, while South Africa, Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Pakistan qualify through the 2020-2023 World Cup Super League. The World Cup qualifiers will reveal the final two teams of the world cup.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 schedule is out: India will face Pakistan on October 15

From October 5 to November 19, ICC announced the World Cup 2023 Schedule; the final will be in Ahmedabad, and the semifinals will be in Mumbai and Kolkata on November 15 and 16.

ODI World Cup 2023 will start on October 5

The 2023 men’s ODI World Cup will start on October 5 in Ahmedabad, with games taking place at ten different locations, and conclude on November 19 with the championship match. ICC organizes a final in Ahmedabad, and the semifinals will be in Mumbai and Kolkata.

If India advances to the semifinals, the ICC has indicated that game will take place in Mumbai unless Pakistan is their opponent, in which case the game will take place in Kolkata.

Ten cities will host the ICC 2023 World Cup

Over 46 days, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune will host the 45 league games and the three knockout rounds.

There will be reserve days for both the semifinals and the championship match. The tournament’s six league games will get underway at 10:30 am IST. All other contests are day-night actions, with kickoff at 2:00 pm IST.

The ICC and BCCI finally unveiled the much-anticipated and delayed World Cup schedule on Tuesday at a gathering in Mumbai, just 100 days before the start of the competition. In contrast, the Schedule for the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales, & the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, were announced more than a year in advance.

The league phase will feature ten teams competing against one another once, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. The format will remain the same as it was in 2019. India earned the right to host the competition, while South Africa, Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Pakistan qualified by placing in the top eight of the 2020–2023 World Cup Super League.

The World Cup qualifiers will reveal the final two teams of the world cup. The qualifiers are being played in Zimbabwe right now between Sri Lanka, the West Indies, Ireland, Nepal, the Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, the United Arab Emirates, and Zimbabwe.

New Zealand and England face off in the opening match of the 2023 World Cup, while hosts India face off against Australia on October 8 in Chennai.
