Match 59 was played between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. With DC on 10th place and PBKS on 8th place, the time was already running out for both the teams to make it into the playoffs. Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl first.

PBKS had a bad start. They lost skipper Shikhar Dhawan in second over. Then Ishant Sharma dismissed Liam Livingstone quickly in fourth over. Prabhsimran was holding the ground from one end but the PBKS was continuously losing wickets from the other side. They lost Jitesh Sharma in sixth over.

Then Sam Curran and Prabhsimran added 72 runs together on the board, but Curran got dismissed with PBKS on 117 runs. Prabhsimran continued to play a great inning for his team and scored a century in just 61 balls. Post his dismissal, other batters added 13 more runs and PBKS managed to set a target of 168 runs in 20 overs for DC.

DC came to bat with David Warner and Phil Salt. Together they gave an explosive start to DC by putting 69 runs in just six overs. Phil Salt was dismissed by Brar after scoring 21(17). David Warner scored his 60th IPL half century in 23 balls. Mitchell Marsh got dismissed. Rossouw came to bat and got out after scoring just 5 runs.

In 9th over, DC score was 81/3. DC got a big blow when their hard hitter Warner got out in the same over. In 10th over, Chahar dismissed Axar Patel. In a span of 1 over DC score went from 81/3 to 86/5.

In 11th over, Brar clean bowled Manish Pandey and got his fourth wicket. Post that DC kept on losing wickets consistently, which took them into the final over with 37 runs to win. PBKS was able to restrict DC at 136 runs which led them to win the match by 31 runs.
With this DC is now out of the playoffs and PBKS jumped to 6th position from 8th on points table. Prabhsimran Singh was awarded with Player of the Match award.
