Rajasthan Assembly elections: BJP’s bold decision to field 7 MPs

The BJP’s decision to nominate seven MPs for Rajasthan assembly elections has sparked protests from those who are passed over in the first ticket list for upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections, including some Vasundhara Raje Scindia supporters. The party has also fielded 24 ministers in MP despite claims of anti-incumbency against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government. The Congress list for both states is still pending, and the BJP must manage pressures in Rajasthan. Rajpal Singh Shekhawat and Narpat Singh Rajvi, who received no tickets from Jhotwara and Vidhyadhar Nagar, seem close to Raje. The BJP has also attempted surprises, including fielding eight independent candidates who received significant votes despite losing previous elections.

Denial of tickets for Vasundhara Raje supporters has led them to question the BJP’s selection of Diya Kumari, whose “family had bending before the Mughals,” and to label Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore an “outsider.”

BJP’s decision to field 24 ministers in MP despite anti-incumbency

Political observers in Madhya Pradesh find themselves taken aback by the BJP’s decision to field 24 ministers despite claims of anti-incumbency against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government’s leaders.

The Congress list for both states is still pending

As the party waits for the auspicious Navratra period to start on 15 this month before announcing tickets, the Congress list for both states is still pending.

BJP must try to calm tensions

In Rajasthan, where some Raje supporters got ejected, BJP must attempt to manage pressures. Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, a former minister and two-time MLA, is one of them and didn’t receive a ticket from Jhotwara. Narpat Singh Rajvi, a three-time sitting MLA, also rejected a ticket from Vidhyadhar Nagar.

Rajyawardhan Singh Rathore, a member of the Lok Sabha, is running in Jhotwara for the BJP, while MP Diya Kumari is running in Vidhyadhar Nagar. Raje appears as close to Shekhawat and Rajvi.

Rajvi has even questioned why the BJP chose Diya Kumari, whose “family bent before the Mughals,” while Rathore gets referred to as an “outsider” by Shekhawat.

The party picked the MPs to set up a fierce fight

Additionally, protesting are those who received no tickets to stand in for MPs like Baba Balaknath, Kirodi Lal Meena, Bhagirath Choudhary, and Devi Patel. However, the BJP believes that these candidates, including Shekhawat and Rajvi, had no chance of winning the previously mentioned seats; as a result, the party picked the MPs to increase winning chances.

The BJP also surprised everyone by fielding eight candidates who ran as independents in the previous elections and received sizable votes in losing cause. They currently appear to be the best bet against the sitting Congress MLAs.
