No confidence motion in Lok Sabha
Gaurav Gogoi, a leader in the North East and a deputy for the Congress in the Lok Sabha, has introduced a motion of no confidence against the PM Modi administration. This motion is the first of its kind in 20 years; the last one occurred in 2003 and came against the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government. All parties agree on this choice, according to sources familiar with the situation.

The opposition’s appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make an address regarding the ethnic assault in Manipur caused the monsoon session of Parliament to get disrupted for four days in a row, prompting the choice to introduce the motion.
The opposition alliance INDIA stated that they intend to use the discussion to draw attention to the Manipur issue and emphasized the administration to send the Prime Minister, not just the Union Home Minister, to Parliament to discuss the issue.

The no-confidence motion against the PM Modi administration originated from Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, who stated, “The INDIA alliance is conscious of its figures in the Lok Sabha, but this is not just about numbers. It relates to Manipur’s pursuit of justice. The relatives and friends of Manipur should be aware that although PM Modi may have forgotten about them, the INDIA alliance stands by them during this difficult time and is battling for their rights inside the Parliament.”
He added, “We want to urge PM Modi to visit the Parliament to discuss the country because this issue no longer affects Manipur but has spread to other states. The Prime Minister may speak to his nation from the Parliament on national security and strength.”
Mallikarjun Kharge write to Home Minister
The Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, asserts to Union Home Minister Amit Shah the impasse in Congress over the Manipur issue. “We have been pleading with the Prime Minister to appear before the Parliament, but it appears that would damage his reputation.”
