After being assigned to Zydus Hospital for surgery, Desai passed away from a brain hemorrhage while receiving treatment. Desai, who oversaw the Group’s international business, sales, and marketing, was an appreciated business voice and played a leading role in platforms like the Confederation of Indian Industry.

Top Wagh Bakri Tea Group executive and businessman Parag Desai, 49, passed away yesterday (October 22), a few days after getting attacked by stray dogs outside his home.

Desai sustained severe injuries while defending himself

“Desai got attacked by street dogs on October 15 and sustained serious injuries while attempting to defend himself,” according to Ahmedabad Mirror. His family learned about the happening by a security guard outside his home, and he headed to Shelby Hospital.

Desai got assigned to Zydus Hospital for surgery after spending a day observing at Shelby Hospital. On Sunday, though, he passed away from a brain hemorrhage while receiving treatment.

The Gujarat Congress leader expressed his condolences

Shaktisinh Gohil, the leader of the Gujarat Congress and a member of the Rajya Sabha, conveyed his condolences for Desai’s passing on social media.

“The latest information is very depressing. Wagh Bakri Tea’s director and owner, Parag Desai, passed away. He collapsed and suffered a brain hemorrhage. The Lord has mercy on his soul. I send sympathies to the entire Indian Wagh Bakri family,” he wrote.

The managing director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, Rasesh Desai, was Desai’s father. His wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha are the only ones left to him.
