Virat overtook Matthew Hayden’s record as well

Along with surpassing Sehwag’s impressive total of 8586 runs, Virat overtook the legendary Australian swashbuckler Matthew Hayden, who amassed 8625 runs in Test cricket.

Only Sachin Tendulkar (15921), Rahul Dravid (13265), Sunil Gavaskar (10122), and VVS Laxman (8781) currently lead Kohli in terms of most runs scored in Test cricket among Indians.

The celebrated Sachin Tendulkar is the Indian batsman with the most Test runs. The master of the bat amassed 15,921 runs at an average of 53.78 in 200 Test matches. Rahul Dravid secured the second spot in the list with 13288 runs in 164 Test matches.

With 10122 runs in 125 matches, Sunil Gavaskar is the third-place finisher and the first player to reach 10,000 runs in Test cricket. VVS Laxman is in fourth place with 8781 runs in 134 games.
In 111 Test matches, Kohli scored 8642 runs at an average of 49.38. He clocks up 28 centuries and 30 half-centuries.
