To match ChatGPT’s popularity, Google Bard Adding New Features

Google has announced that its artificial intelligence chatbot,Google Bard, can verify facts in responses and examine users’ individual Google data. It comes after the launch of ChatGPT, a chat robot from Microsoft-backed OpenAI, which generated competition in tech sectors. Despite its rapid growth, Bard has not achieved the same success. Google is introducing Bard Extensions, which allow users to load files from other Google products, such as Google Drive or Gmail inboxes.

Another new feature is “hallucinations,” which aims to solve the persistent issue of false positives in generative AI. Google is also collaborating with outside businesses to integrate their applications into Bard, and users can now invite friends to join conversations.

To overtake ChatGPT’s popularity, Google Bard now has new features

Additionally, Google works with outside companies to incorporate their applications into Bard. Users can also invite people to join their Bard conversations using one of the features.

Bard can verify facts

To surpass ChatGPT in recognition, Alphabet’s Google announced on Tuesday that Bard, its productive artificial intelligence, can verify facts in its responses and examine users’ individual Google data.

The launch of ChatGPT sparked competition in the tech sectors

The launch of ChatGPT, a chat robot from Microsoft-backed OpenAI, last year generated competition in tech companies to make creative AI technology available to customers. ChatGPT, which is currently among the top 30 websites in the world, was the customer’s application with the most significant rate of expansion ever at the time.

Bard’s growth wasn’t nearly as rapid

Bard is yet to achieve the same success. According to website analytics company Similarweb, it acquired 183 million visits in August, or 13% of ChatGPT’s.

Google is introducing Bard Extensions

Google is releasing Bard Extensions, which lets consumers load their files from other Google products, as it looks to establish momentum in the quickly evolving AI market. Customers might request Bard to look up specific files in Google Drive or to summarise their Gmail inbox, for example.

Users of Bard can currently only access data from Google apps, but Google is collaborating with outside businesses to integrate their programs into Bard in future releases, according to Google Senior Product Director Jack Krawczyk.

One more Bard feature is “hallucinations”

Another new Bard feature aims to solve a persistent issue with generative AI: false positives, also known as “hallucinations.” Users of Bard will eventually be able to see the areas in which Bard’s responses diverge from and concur with Google search results.

The goal is to boost users’ trust

By holding Bard accountable, Krawczyk said, “We are displaying (Bard) in a manner that it acknowledges when it isn’t assured” to increase users’ confidence in generative AI.

Google is also collaborating with outside businesses to integrate their applications into Bard. Thanks to a third new feature, users can now invite friends to join conversations on Bard.
