Ravindra Jadeja Responded to Kapil Dev’s Jab at Team India

Former captain Kapil Dev criticized present-day Team India players for being “ungenerous” and “know-it-all” in response to a comment made by his former teammate Sunil Gavaskar. Gavaskar claimed that cricketers from the current Indian team rarely called them for assistance, unlike players like VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, and Sachin Tendulkar. Ravindra Jadeja responded to Kapil’s comment, stating that the team lacks arrogance and has no particular agenda. These types of comments usually occur after an Indian team loss.

“These kinds of remarks frequently appear following a defeat for an Indian team. It is an excellent group of boys, a good team. There is no particular agenda; our primary goal is to represent India,” Jadeja said.

Kapil Dev, “They know it all”

Former captain Kapil Dev took a shot at present-day Team India players, calling them “ungenerous” and “know-it-all” in reaction to an old comment made by his former teammate Sunil Gavaskar, who stated that, unlike players like VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, and Sachin Tendulkar, cricketers from the present Indian team rarely called them for assistance regardless of experiencing a difficult time in their professional careers.

Ravindra Jadeja responded to Kapil Dev’s comment

Before the third and final ODI of the series against the West Indies on Monday in Trinidad, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja responded forcefully to the former India captain’s remark.

Jadeja got mindful of Kapil’s comment during the pre-game press conference on Monday for the series-deciding game in the West Indies, and the seasoned player quickly responded with a pointed retort.

Statement of Ravindra Jadeja

“I’m not sure when he said this. See, everyone has a different viewpoint. Former players are entirely free to express their opinions, but this team, in my opinion, lacks any conceit,” said Jadeja to the press.

“They are giving everything they have. These types of comments usually occur after an Indian team loss. It is an excellent group of boys, a good team. There is no particular agenda; our primary goal is to represent India,” he continued.

Kapil Dev, in an interview

In an interview with The Week, Kapil discussed the subject and noted that while it exudes confidence, the drawback is that these modern Indian batters believe “they know everything.” He believes that cricketers have grown “arrogant” because the IPL changed Indian cricket, which gave them significant financial benefits early in their careers.

Kapil Dev’s remark

“Differences emerge; the positive (aspect) of these players is that they exude great confidence. They have the flaw of thinking they’re aware of all things. There isn’t a better way for me to put it than that. However, despite their conviction, they believe they never have to ask anyone. Our opinion is that an expert can assist you,” said Kapil.

Gavaskar’s comments on the Indian cricket team following their loss in the WTC championship

Following India’s loss in the WTC final, Gavaskar spoke with a news agency in June and recalled the time he offered Sehwag some phone mentoring to aid him in improving his cricket. He also added that he felt perplexed by the current India players’ unwillingness to listen to advice from retired cricketers
