Ravi Shastri predicts the Gujarat Titans as IPL 2023 Champion

Ravi Shastri, a former cricketer for India, believes Gujarat Titans can win the IPL in 2023 and defend their title. He attributes this to the team’s balance and overall performance.

Gujarat Titans Performance

Gujarat Titans have a chance to break the string of victories over the IPL championships that the two most illustrious and successful teams have achieved so far this season. The Gujarat Titans are attempting to become just the third team this season to win two consecutive IPL championships; currently, only the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings have accomplished this feat.

Even though Captain Hardik Pandya hasn’t been at his best, his leadership hasn’t suffered. His Dhoni-like mentality and persistence with some of his players have influenced his team’s chances of requalifying.

At the halfway point of this season, they are in first place in the IPL 2023 points standings after losing just three of their nine games.

Since GT’s inception, Wriddiman Saha, Shubman Gill, David Miller, Rashid Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Mohammed Shami, and Hardik Pandya have been its main contributors. They added some quick bowlers and young Indian batsmen to their lineup after a successful season, and most of them made significant contributions.

B. Sai Sudarshan and Vijay Shankar of Tamil Nadu both have two half-centuries, and other young players like Abhinav Manohar, Noor Ahmed, and Joshua Little have already contributed to winning games.

Ravi Shastri’s Statement

“Gujarat will win the trophy, in my opinion, based on the team’s standings and current form. This team is flexible and consistent, with seven to eight players delivering reliable performances. The members of this Gujarat team work well together,” according to Ravi Shastri, who was interviewed on Cricket Live on Star Sports.

Ravi Shastri also praises Sanju Samson’s leadership

The former head coach of India, Shastri, has also lauded Sanju Samson’s leadership of the Rajasthan Royals and appears to be extremely pleased with how the wicketkeeper-batter is managing his spin trio of R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Adam Zampa in the IPL 2023.

“Sanju Samson has become a more capable captain. He makes excellent use of his spinners. Three spinners can only be used effectively by a good captain,” according to Shastri.
