As the Rafah frontier crossing into Gaza plans to be operational soon, cargo planes sent necessities like food, medical supplies, water filters, and sanitation items to Egypt’s El Arish airport.

The US is ready to help Israel combat Hamas

Speaking at a press conference, US State Department representative Matthew Miller said the country is ready to help Israel combat Hamas while making it easier to get humanitarian aid to Gaza. US officials, including President Joe Biden, reiterated Thursday that US intelligence does not link the blast at al-Ahli Hospital to an Israeli airstrike.

On October 7, a militant attack by Hamas sparked a wave of indiscriminate Israeli retaliation that started the conflict. Israel asserted that at least 1,400 people—mostly civilians—died in the first assault and that subsequent clashes resulted in the deaths of 1,500 Islamist fighters.
