“Dhoni Review System”

The Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders played in an IPL 2023 game on Sunday at Eden Gardens, and once again the “Dhoni Review System” was on display.

What was the incident?

David Wiese was dismissed by MS Dhoni with a brilliant review on the third ball of the 18th over of the KKR chase. Tushar Deshpande’s slower ball struck Wiese in the pad, but the umpire didn’t agree that it should be called a strike. Dhoni chose to go upstairs, and replays showed that the ball would have struck the stumps.

Comments from Dhoni fans

After MS Dhoni’s review, fans of the legendary player flooded Twitter with praise, and the microblogging service experienced no respite.

“Esliye Hi Kehte hai…DRS ko DHONI REVIEW SYSTEM #DhoniReviewSystem #KKRvCSK #Dhoni #rahane #raydu #csk,” wrote one fan.
