Congress urged PM Modi to introduce the Women’s Reservation Bill

During a working committee meeting on Saturday in Hyderabad, the Congress demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi include the Women Reservation Bill during the upcoming special session of Parliament.

The Congress Working Committee’s (CWC) first meeting

The party’s highest decision-making body, the Congress Working Committee (CWC), held its first meeting since its reorganization in a star hotel on an eventful note. The CWC reiterated the party’s commitment to making the INDIA initiative a cultural and electoral triumph so that the nation is free of dividing and contentious politics. It also rejected the One Nation One Election (ONOE), calling it a reckless assault on the federal framework of the country.

The Congress Working Committee debated up to 14 issues

The CWC discussed up to 14 proposals, wrapping numerous national issues, including rising joblessness, farmer distress, and the contentious and prejudiced practices of the Modi government endangering communal harmony. The event included participation by the top brass, including President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, and star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

The Congress voiced disappointment

Regarding the special session of Parliament, the Congress conveyed disappointment over the virtually complete disappearance of oversight and debate under Modi and appreciated its former leader, Sonia Gandhi, for hastily sending a letter requesting a discussion on nine issues of public concern. The main opposition pushed for the passage of the divisive Women Reservation Bill amid speculation about the special session’s actual agenda.

The CWC criticized the Prime Minister

The CWC denounced the Prime Minister’s “continued rejection to accept the demise of territory mocking the sacrifices of our jawans” and “his persistent refusal to acknowledge the total collapse of the Legal machinery in Manipur and ongoing brutality.”

Mallikarjun Kharge slammed the Modi administration harshly

The leaders received a cordial welcome from the A. Revanth Reddy-led Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. Mallikarjun Kharge, the party’s national president, attacked the Modi administration harshly in his opening remarks for the government’s general failures, including its handling of the economy, defending the nation from foreign aggression, and offering aid during natural disasters.

Modi’s catchphrases “Atma-nirbhar Bharat,” “5 Trillion Economy,” “New India 2022,” and “Amritkaal,” according to Kharge, were all created to distract and switch focus from important issues.
