Congress President Kharge Attacks BJP and PM On State Of Indian Democracy

On Monday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for demanding an apology from his party’s leader, Rahul Gandhi, for his recent statements in London, sparking fierce discussions between the Treasury and Opposition benches.
On the first day of the second leg of the Budget session, Kharge told the media outside Parliament, “Those who are smashing and weakening democracy are talking about saving it. PM Modi is governing like a dictator, and the BJP is talking about saving democracy and the country’s dignity.

“With regards to the Adani Stocks issue, we are requesting the formation of a JPC. When we raise this issue, the microphones are turned off and a commotion breaks out in the House,” the Rajya Sabha’s leader of the opposition, said.
Whatever remarks Rahul Gandhi made about democracy were already discussed in the Rajya Sabha. This is a violation of the rules, “Kharge stated.

The Lok Sabha was adjourned until 2 p.m. shortly after Parliament reconvened after protesting Opposition leaders rushed to House Wells, causing chaos. Rajya Sabha was also rescheduled until 2 p.m.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi began speaking in the lower house about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s latest statements in London.
Rajya Sabha was also postponed by Speaker Jagdeep Dhankar after protesting Opposition MPs caused a commotion.
“I’d like to remind you of your statement in China, Narendramodi ji. ‘Previously, you felt so ashamed of being born Indian,’ you said. You’re now honored to serve your country.’ Isn’t this an insult to India and Indians? Ask your Ministers to brush up on their facts!” Kharage tweeted, in response to Modi’s remarks on foreign soil.

You previously stated in South Korea, ‘There was a time when people used to believe that what crime they committed in their prior life, which ultimately resulted in taking birth in India, is this what you consider a country to be…” before lecturing the Congress party, look at the ‘Mirror of Truth!’,” he added in another tweet.

Earlier, Speaker Piyush Goyal claimed in his speech that Gandhi tried to paint the country in a negative light while abroad.
Goyal urged Rahul Gandhi to appear in Parliament House and make an apology to members of the house as well as the people of India.

The ruckus by BJP leader was against Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement in London on the condition of Indian democracy. Mr Gandhi stated that in parliament opposition leader’s microphones are turned off and their remarks are kept outside the records if they question and criticize the government on any front.

The BJP government is continuously avoiding opposition requests of a Joint Parliamentary Committee for the alleged irregularities and scam in Adani enterprises as reported by US firm Hindenberg.

It is important to note that media machinery is not raising these questions against the government and opposition is allegedly not allowed to speak up anything against the government and its policies.
