The game is supposed to resume on the reserve day, with the possibility of rain on Monday as well.

The second Super 4 match between Rohit Sharma & Co. and Sri Lanka will take place on Tuesday, and if they play a full 50-over game, their bowlers will have little time to rest. After the previous group stage match between India and Pakistan in Palleleke got postponed, the organizers added a reserve day.

On Monday, India and Pakistan will pick up where they left off in their Asia Cup match; India is 147-2 from 24.1 overs. Only an hour into the game on Monday, there is an 80% chance of rain.

The game between India and Pakistan Shifted to Reserve Day

The crucial Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan pulled out on Sunday due to a period of heavy rain. Rain pelted the Premadasa Stadium as India were 147/2 after 24.1 overs. Following the impressive half-centuries by openers Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58), Virat Kohli and K L Rahul were on 8 and 17, respectively.

The game ultimately folded at 8.45 PM IST after numerous inspections. India will pick up batting again tomorrow on the reserve day.

If a 50-over game concludes on Monday, it will challenge India as the match enters the reserve day. Tuesday’s second Super 4 match between Rohit Sharma & Co. and Sri Lanka will take place, and if they play a full 50-over game, their bowlers won’t have much time to rest.

A reserve day emerged after the previous group stage match between India and Pakistan in Palleleke got rained out the weekend before after the conclusion of one innings. Organizers didn’t plan for a reserve day earlier.
