Apple Reality Pro Mixed Reality : What To Expect?

The anticipated Apple Reality Pro, a mixed reality headset, is expected to be unveiled at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2023) starting on June 5. Speculations surrounding the headset have been circulating for months, including details about its design resembling ski goggles and the inclusion of high-resolution Micro OLED displays. Although Apple has not officially confirmed the release of their first mixed reality headset, a 3D artist has created design renders of the rumored device.

Apple Reality Pro Mixed Reality

Ahead of the rumored debut, 9to5Mac’s Ian Zelbo has shared 3D renders of the Apple Reality Pro headset. These images provide various angles of the purported headset and are based on reported details about the device, improving upon Zelbo’s previous renders from last year. For instance, the new renders depict the goggles with a ski goggle-like design.

The 3D renders also showcase an input tool similar to the Digital Crown positioned on the right side of the headset. Zelbo suggests that the strap of the Apple Reality Pro may feature a clasp on the right side, which could potentially support charging, similar to the Apple Watch. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported that the headset would be powered by an external battery pack.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal report citing insiders familiar with the development of Apple’s mixed reality headset, the device is expected to carry a price tag of $3,000 (approximately Rs. 2.50 lakh) and the company anticipates production challenges. Unlike virtual reality goggles, Apple’s headset is said to incorporate cameras to enable users to perceive their surroundings. The headset is also rumored to include two 1.41-inch (diagonal) Micro OLED screens with a peak brightness of over 5,000 nits.

As is customary, Apple typically refrains from disclosing details about unreleased or unannounced products, and the rumored Reality Pro headset follows suit. However, the company recently published a blog post on the Apple Developer site titled “Code new worlds,” encouraging developers to watch the Apple Keynote event on June 5, which hints at the arrival of an AR/VR device. More information regarding Apple’s upcoming mixed reality headset is expected to surface in the coming days.
