Web Series Review: Asur 2- The Rise Of The Dark Side

The series’ leading actors are Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti. Along with them, this series also stars Meiyang Chang, Anupriya Goenka, Amey Wagh, Vishesh Bansal, Gaurav Arora, and Ridhi Dogra.

The First Impression

Asur 2: The Rise Of The Dark Side is currently available for OTT streaming, and after binge-watching the whole series in one sitting, simple to say that it was worth the wait. Simply because it has gathered a lot of what will blow your mind and yet make so much sense, the show seems to have proven worthwhile given all the buzz surrounding it when it first debuted, followed by all this waiting.

The plot isn’t too complex

Even though many things are happening at once, they don’t make sense, which only adds to our confusion even though we are aware of what is going on. Sure, things are more complicated now, but you can still understand them by just watching the show. Due credit must go to the show’s creators and director for pulling this off without making it seem boring, like a rip-off of a Hollywood production, or like just another season for the sake of it.

Review of the Series

Aside from the creators, of course, a series can only be as effective as its performers, and this one has a good number of them. Everyone has done a great job, including Barun Sobti, Amey Wagh, Vishesh Bansal, and others. When we first saw Barun playing Nikhil, he tried something different, but he made an impression.

Anupriya Goenka and Ridhi Dogra both perform well and can give the show some substance through their contributions. Although Meiyang Chang’s character might not be the best positioned in terms of why he ends up in the middle, it doesn’t detract from his performance.

For many, just watching him perform his part is a pleasure to witness and a masterclass in acting! Despite having a consistent character arc, Arshad, who plays DJ, allows us to simultaneously see many different sides of him. Arshad plays a significant role in the final two episodes, which will leave you feeling a variety of emotions, including excitement, worry, suspense, and so much more.

The dialogues in the show naturally receive an extra point from critics and fans. We give all the credit to the trio of Gaurav along with Suraj Gianani and Abhijeet Khuman for being able to incorporate some of the best dialogues in a Hindi web show while still ensuring that they are always understood clearly.

The Final words

The sudden change in the course of events will undoubtedly leave you in complete shock just when you’d like to think you’ve got things under control and understand what might come next. And that’s among the best aspects of the production in terms of the writing, the acting, and, of course, the direction.

Well, the first season undoubtedly left us with a lot of unanswered questions, and while there are still some this season, there may or may not be additional ones to investigate in the future. But it certainly comes to an incredible conclusion!
