‘Leo’ Box Office Collection – Vijay’s movie outperforms “Killers of the Flower Moon”


Vijay’s Tamil film Leo premiered in third place at the worldwide box office over the weekend, grossing $31.2 million. The film received $48.5 million in its four-day run, surpassing Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone’s Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese. Leo made over 400 crores in its first four days, making it the biggest weekend ever for a Tamil film. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directed movie also stars Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Sandy, Sanjay Dutt, and Trisha. Both films are literary adaptations, with Leo based on John Wagner’s graphic novel “A History of Violence” and Killers of the Flower Moon rooted in the 2017 book by David Grann.

In official reports, Leo’s producers stated that the film produced over 400 crores in its first four days, making this the most successful weekend in Tamil film history.

Leo premiered in third place at the global box office

According to Comscore projections screened on Sunday, Vijay’s Tamil film Leo premiered in third place at the worldwide box office over the most recent weekend, grossing $31.2 million worldwide.
Leo received $48.5 million in its four-day run.

While Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone’s Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese, positioned itself at the top of that list with $44 million in terms of worldwide cumulative among new releases, Leo received $48.5 million in its four-day run as opposed to $44 million for Killers of the Flower Moon.
Leo made more than 400 crores in its first four days.

“Leo made $2.1 million over the weekend in the US, and £1.07 million ($1.3 million) in its first three days of release in the UK and Ireland,” according to a Variety article. Leo’s producers disclosed in official reports that the movie made more than 400 crores in its first four days, making this the biggest weekend ever for a Tamil film.

About Leo

Leo is a film by SS Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio and co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy. Manoj Paramahamsa shot the movie, Philomin Raj edited it, and Dinesh choreographed the dances. Lokesh Kanagaraj is the director of the film. The music for the movie gets composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has previously worked with Lokesh on two occasions (Master and Vikram) and Vijay on two occasions (Master and Kaththi).
After Master, Leo is Lokesh’s second collaboration with Vijay. In addition to them, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Sandy, Sanjay Dutt, and Trisha also appear in the movie.

About Killers of the Flower Moon

In contrast, Killers of the Flower Moon represents Scorsese and DiCaprio’s sixth and De Niro and Scorsese’s tenth feature film collaborations, respectively. October 27 will witness the release of the movie in the Indian theatres.
Interestingly, both films are literary adaptations; Leo centered on John Wagner’s graphic novel “A History of Violence,” which was also made into a film by David Cronenberg in 2005, and Killers of the Flower Moon has its roots in the 2017 book of the same name by David Grann.
