Price Increases for Amazon Prime’s Monthly and Quarterly Subscriptions; Annual Plan Cost Is Unaffected
The cost of Amazon Prime has increased by Rs. 120 for monthly and Rs. 140 for quarterly subscriptions, respectively.

Subscriptions to Amazon Prime in India have become more costly for users who choose monthly and quarterly plans. The price increase does not apply to the annual subscription plan. Customers can purchase an annual Prime membership for Rs. 1,499.
The cost of an Amazon Prime membership has increased by Rs. 120 per month and Rs. 140 per quarter, respectively. Customers will now pay 67 percent more for Amazon Prime’s monthly subscription option than previously, which experienced the highest price increase.
The new price of Amazon Prime membership
A monthly subscription to Amazon Prime in India now costs Rs. 299, while a quarterly subscription costs Rs. 599, according to information on Amazon’s support page (via MySmartPrice). Previously, these plans were priced at Rs. 179 and Rs. 459, respectively.
These changes indicate a 67 percent increase in the monthly plan and a nearly 31 percent increase in the quarterly subscription plans.
There hasn’t been a price increase for the annual membership, so it remains at Rs. 1,499.
Perks of Prime Membership
It is important to note that, irrespective of the length of the Amazon Prime subscription, the advantages and perks of the membership remain the same.
There will also be free access to Prime Video and Prime Music. In addition, there will be free one- to two-day deliveries to eligible addresses with no minimum order requirement. The e-commerce site’s daily Lightning Deals will also be available to subscribers every day, along with exclusive access to top deals and 30-minute early access to those deals.
In 2016, Amazon launched its Prime service in India for a one-year introductory price of Rs. 499. It started its monthly subscription offer in 2018.
Amazon Prime Lite
In the meantime, Amazon Prime also provides a cheaper Prime Lite membership. The annual cost of this plan is Rs. 999.
Amazon Prime Lite benefits
Among the benefits of the subscription are free two-day delivery, free standard delivery without a minimum purchase requirement, early access to “Lightning” deals, and daily deals from Amazon.
Prime Lite subscribers have unlimited access to video content, similar to Amazon Prime subscribers. Content will, however, be offered with advertisements and in standard definition (SD). The company has stated that it can be streamed simultaneously on two devices, including mobile devices.
