69th National Film Awards: Massive triumphs go to Allu Arjun, Alia, and Kriti


The 69th National Film Awards took place at the National Media Centre in New Delhi on Thursday afternoon, with prizes for films censored in 2021. The event was organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Directorate of Film Festivals, with filmmakers Ketan Mehta and Vasanth S Sai, along with poet and journalist Yatindra Mishra, as the jury chairpersons.

The awards ceremony featured several big winners, including Best Movie as Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Best Actor (Male) Allu Arjun for Pushpa (The Rise Part I), Best Actor (Female) Kriti Sanon for Mimi (Hindi), and Alia Bhatt for Gangubai Kathiawadi (Hindi). Nikhil Mahajan won the National Film Award for Best Director for the Marathi movie Godavari. Pankaj Tripathi and Pallavi Joshi were the best-supporting actors for Mimi and The Kashmir Files.

Taking home the National Award for Best Movie was The Nambi Effect. The Best Actress prize went to Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon for the Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi. Telugu actor Allu Arjun won best actor for the Telugu film Pushpa: The Rise (Part I).

69th National Film Awards

At the National Media Centre in New Delhi on Thursday afternoon, the 69th National Film Awards took place, including prizes for films censored in 2021. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Directorate of Film Festivals, representing the Indian government, organized the event.
